Auction

O.K., I went to an auction this weekend and bought a curio cabinet. I loved it when I saw it and had to have it. I stayed at the auction until they came to it and decided I wouldn't pay over 200 for it. Guess what? I got it for $180.00. I was so happy!

Here it is

Do you like it?

Happy Birthday Caleb and Jake!!

I can't believe that my babies are 10!! Where has the time gone? It seems like just yesterday I was diapering their little butts and now they are 10 and in the fourth grade. (sniffle sniffle) A lot of my coworkers can remember how I used to go to the school to volunteer with a baby carrier on each arm. Back then I used to walk up to the third floor to go to the office to sign in! I don't know how I did it. Look at how cute they were!!!

Now look at them. Still cute......now just a mess!

Happy Birthday Caleb and Jake!!!!
We love you!!!

Texas Fun!

Well, we're back home and we had a great time. My husband got to rest and the boys and I had fun being with family.
These are a few of the picture from our trip to Amarillo. The kids loved playing in the pool.

Good Deals

I found some pretty good deals this week. I got my son a good dresser for cheap and some cute odds and ends.

I found this dresser on Craig's list. I got from a young girl that is moving to Santa Barbara, Ca. What do you think? It needs a couple drawer pulls and a coat of paint but I think it's a nice dresser. Caleb really needed it. The one he had finally fell apart. Kids are hard on dressers. Maybe it's just my boys? Lord, I hope not!
Then this morning I went to goodwill. I've gone to goodwills before but never really found anything.  Well, this time I did. Just the other day I was telling AJ how I wished I had a big cookie jar like the one Grandma has in her kitchen. I have one but it's just not big enough. Well, guess what?? Yep, I found it! The exact same one at Goodwill. I snatched it up right away.
This is what it looked like when I got it.

Not very pretty, huh? I would've past it up before but this is what it looks like now.

It looks pretty now. Doesn't it? I like it.

These are some other little odds and ends that I got at Goodwill. (Please excuse the dust, my house has been undergoing renovations for the past year.) All of this, the cookie jar and, yes, the dust for under $15.00. I don't know what I'll do with them but I'll show you on a later post. Maybe, I'll go to the Salvation army tomorrow. Hmmmm..........

Caleb and Daddy

I'm home everyone! I've been gone for three weeks and it feels great to be home. I missed my husband but most of all I missed my baby. Caleb stayed here in Wichita with Dad. Before I left he asked,"Mom, how long are we going to Texas for?" After he heard the words "three weeks", he decided he wasn't going. You see, three weeks without Dad would be too hard for him. Dad is his hero and there was no way he was going and leaving Dad alone. So, he stayed and they went and did everything together. You couldn't wipe the smile off of his face if you wanted to. They had a blast. I guess I'm a little jealous and sad because it's always been me he needed. Now, it's DAD! I guess I should be glad that he enjoys spending time with Dad but I can't help but feel a little sad. Am I selfish? I don't mean to be. I just hate seeing my babies grow up. What am I going to do when my boys go and do guy things with Dad? I don't have a girl to shopping with me. (SIGH) Any suggestions???

I'm in Texas!

Well I am borrowing all of these pictures from my sis. She has all of this on her blog and I liked it. I wanted to take pictures to show my friends in Wichita but why when she's done it all for me. (Ha Ha)
Here we go:

Spearman has a population of 3021 residents. Woah

There is only one stop light in the whole town.

We only have one grocery store. And it closes at 8:00pm.

No Wal-Mart here. We only have an Alco.

This is the JB Buchanan windmill collection. There are other windmills spread out through the town. Because of this, Spearman is officially known as the “windmill town”.

Courthouse. Right smack in the center of town

Spearman is a farming community. And this is what you’ll see on your drive into and out of town.

Fields of corn

hay fields

You won’t see too many cars, but you will see lots of cows

And you will see wide open land and a whole lot of blue Texas sky.

I do like it here. This is where I grew up. And even though I live in Wichita now, Spearman will always be home. There’s no crime at all. You don’t have to lock your vehicle when you run into the store and your kids can ride their bikes around town with no worries. This really is Mayberry.

Small town, America

Happy Father's day

A Dad is a person
who is loving and kind,
And often he knows
what you have on your mind.
He's someone who listens,
suggests, and defends.
A dad can be one
of your very best friends!
He's proud of your triumphs,
but when things go wrong,
A dad can be patient
and helpful and strong
In all that you do,
a dad's love plays a part.
There's always a place for him
deep in your heart.
And each year that passes,
you're even more glad,
More grateful and proud
just to call him your dad!
Thank you, Dad...
for listening and caring,
for giving and sharing,
but, especially, for just being you!

Happy Father's Day

My Dad is an awesome dad and grandfather. He always spoiled my sisters and I. Whenever he comes to Wichita to visit, he still kisses the top of my head like he did when I was a little girl. I love him dearly.

Also, Happy Father's Day to the love of my life!

I love my husband, Auto, more than any words could ever describe. We have 4 wonderful boys and I thank God for him everyday.

"Termite is 15"

Where has the time gone? I can't believe that my babies are growing up so fast. If I think about it, I'll cry.

Termite's birthday was on the 15th but we celebrated it today. I don't have very many photos because he doesn't like to have his picture taken. He's a bratt. He's always been painfully shy and it's hard to get him to even look at the camera. I did get a one though. Just one but he won't let me put it on here.

This is the guitar cake that I had made for him. He has a picture of his dream guitar as the screen saver on the computer so I emailed the picture to my friend Terri who made this cake for him. Isn't it awesome? He loved it!

He's a good boy and I love him very much!

"16"

Happy 16th Birthday, AJ!!!

I can't believe my first born is now 16. It seems like just yesterday I was asking him,"Do you love momma?" and he would nod his head yes. I would then ask him, "How much?" and he would say, "Out the moon!" (sniffle, sniffle)

I didn't want him to grow up then and now look.

He's been asking for an acoustic guitar for a while so I had Terri, my co-worker and friend to make me a guitar cake. Isn't it cool? AJ loved it!

He calls himself a rockstar so we made the whole birthday party them, "Rock Star"!

I also got him a real one. He loved that one even more!

He also got a new PS2 game, money, and a belt that he'd been wanting.

It didn't take long for him to push everything aside and start playing his guitar.

I love my boy! He's a good boy!

OMG! The concert was awesome!! It is truely a rock and worship tour. If they come to your city, you should definately go and not miss it. It is quite a treat. These bands are great. My ultimate fave........Jeremy Camp with Mercy Me a close second, and Hawk Nelson not far behind. The kids at this concert received such an awesome message from Jeremy. You could see them worship and let me tell you.....Christ made his presence known!! You could feel it with every fiber of your being. AWESOME!!!!! Words can't even begin to describe. Don't miss it!

Wednesday, April 8, 2009

I can't wait until Friday!!
One- I don't have to work and Two- I get to go to the Mercy Me concert! Well, Jeremy Camp, Hawk Nelson, and Addison Road will also be there.
It'll be lots of fun. I think the kids will like it a lot. I will post on Saturday and let you know how good it was. If you don't know who they are, look them up. I think you will like!!!

Making Memories!

The boys are always asking Dad,"When are we going bike riding?"

Somewhere along the way, Cousin Trisha found them. She is a Wichita police officer and she found them somewhere on 21st street. She said she couldn't believe her eyes. She said it looked like one of her nephews but when she saw the rest of them, she knew it was them. Ha Ha! She gave them a few hints as to where they could go and do more exploring.

Boys!! They love that kind of stuff. If I can find a nice trike like the one my sister Beca has, I would go too but not until then. If I went on a regular bike, I wouldn't be able to walk the next day.

This is the boys unloading the bikes from the truck after they spent the day exploring.

**By the way, Beca, where did you get that trike?**

National Honor Society

Yeah!! My son was invited to join the National Honor Society! We received the letter in the mail yesterday saying "Congradulations. Based on your outstading academic acheivement at Wichita High School South, You have been nominated for memebership in The Honor Society."

Wow, I didn't think he would make it. This child is so smart but can't seem to turn in his homework. Based on that alone, I didn't think his GPA was good enough. I guess I was wrong. Dad and I are sooo proud of him. He made it without even trying. Can you imagine if he actually tried? I know he is destined greatness no matter what it is.
